School Nutrition Plus and TRES propaganda
Friday, March 13, 2009

Another day, another store launch.

As an impressionable young lad posting up in the lunchroom cafeteria with my $1.15, I developed an unhealthy obsession for tater tots that still stalks me today. If only School Nutrition Plus existed back then I might not have those late night joneses for that deliciously crisp and fluffy golden brown temptress.

Emily Burson, dietitian and founder of SNP, along with her army of chefs, are trying to get the next generation to stop pounding chocolate covered sugar bombs and start stuffing their food holes with healthy and tasty alternatives. SNP understands a steady diet of Count Chocula and Skittles is not the way to nurse our schools and our ever-increasing population of obese youth back to health. Check out their site to bone-up (you heard) on nutritional education and wellness programs.

The California Charter School Conference happened last week and the SNP crew was there handing out their swag. I still have my abacus they gave away at the Mensa conference last year... Anyway, Emily had an idea to hand out shirts with a simple reminder for everyone: Eat more greens. She enlisted TRES propaganda to help spread the word, and develop some Ts. Along with all the nutritional info you could ever devour (sorry) you can purchase these new Ts at  www.schoolnutritonplus.com.

So eat more greens and save those tots for a special occasion.

The Love of Gear and TRES propaganda
Thursday, March 5, 2009

Hey folks, check out the shiny new store recently launched over at The Love Of Gear.com

Our boy Avery  D'Alessandro developed an awesome site called the The Love Of Sports.com, It's an website resource for ultimate sports fans, with up to the minute articles that celebrate the positive aspects of sports everywhere. It’s a place for people tired of hearing about steroid scandals, their favorite super-star getting arrested (FYI, guns and sweatpants are never a good idea), or players that don't play well with others. The site focuses on the love of the game without hyping the negative.

As TLOS erupted with popularity, and street cred, It found itself getting linked by SPORTS ILLUSTRATED.com and other major sporting news sites. Avery being the smart business man that he is was looking for new revenue streams and a diverse way to monetize his site, so he call us to help him out. I told you he was smart. We threw a GEAR link up off of TLOS, got his store up and running, and even did some fun sports related shirt designs for him. We can't take all the credit though, he had a few shirt concepts in mind as well as the overall direction for the urban feel of the store. We are proud to say that our LEGEND was among the first to sell though. We want to wish Avery and all the crew over at THE LOVE OF network the best of luck and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship. Be on the look out for THE LOVE OF all things including, beer and movies launching soon.

So what's you're excuse for not letting TRES propaganda help you take over the world...? If you need some shirts designed for work, a special event, or even emblazon your secret desire of becoming a sumo wrestler who likes pogo sticking on a shirt (already trademarked, in production, and coming to you this summer), we can make it happen.

TRES propaganda visits the Manhattan Beach Fair
Monday, October 6, 2008

One of the fun parts about being in the t-shirt business is the occasional festival that allows us to meet and greet people that enjoy new t-shirts.  We spent the last weekend selling tees at the Manhattan Beach fair, in the town of the same name.  Thanks to tons of USC & UCLA fans, we were practically cleaned out of the Rival Chase Tees.  Thankfully, we have more in production this week and should have them online early next week.  Thanks so much for the support, the weekend was a success.

Celebrate Cliches with TRES propaganda
Saturday, October 27, 2007

This month we decided to celebrate the cliche. What? Why has the Die Hard franchise been able make hundreds of million of dollars? Why are they working on a 4th impossible mission? Easy, dudes like guns. There is something that happens around the age of 4, when a young boy realizes he can curl his bottom three fingers back, stick out his pointer and take out a whole city of bad guys. We're not here to offend, or be political, just some GOOD CLEAN FUN. This super soft vintage washed T- comes in Midnight and showcases a gun with wings printed in a metallic silver ink.

For our lady's selection, we created quite a DANDY. Remember when a single dandelion held the potential to make your hopes and wishes come true? Now your wish for a stylish V-neck is just a click away. This cuddly soft, vintage washed, V-neck comes in Vintage Teal and features a supple discharged print in Pollen Yellow.

We want to thank you for your continued support. We are having a blast doing this and look forward to many more shirts. If you happen to be around the Rose Bowl (Pasadena, CA) on October 14th, come on by and see us at Tunnel 14.Thanks again,

TRES Combats Injustice

TRES propaganda Combats Injustice

Injustice is bad. And while we admit to not knowing exactly what is going on in Western Sudan, we recognize that we can do more to help. We were recently contacted to design & produce a shirt for a Darfur Fundraiser. Moved by the idea of using t-shirts to help others, we thought we could join in by selling our shirts via the internet. Buy a Darfur shirt from TRES propaganda and we'll give 100% of the profit to SaveDarfur.org.want more info? Amnesty, Genocide Intervention, article from today's San Francisco Chronicle.
Darfur is a region in Sudan that has been embroiled in a deadly conflict for over three years. At least 200,000 people have been killed; more than 2 million innocent civilians have been forced to flee their homes.

The Gap between LA & America
Saturday, December 9, 2006

so . .we launched on nov 30, but it took until dec 5 for it to hit me. It was a sunny 82 degrees outside, and with the fishbowl that I live in (lots of windows), it was about 88 inside the place. I was on the phone talking to our merchant account manager. I had never met him, he works in Maine, and us in LA. He said it was 15 degrees on average out there and laughed at my complaints over the heat. thats when I realized. . .hey . this takes some courage. . .or idiocy, not sure yet, but yes . one or the other. KC and I just launched our new venture, the vintage wash t-shirt line, in the middle of the freaking winter. Yeah, it doesnt take long (well, for me, 7 days) to realize that the country doesnt buy t's in the winter. . .its rare to buy something that you cant use for 4 months. can you imagine doing that with a cell phone, or a CD? That, well, just doesnt happen. But, hey, Im wearing a t-shirt right now? I guess that is how out of touch LA can be with America.

I feel a little like the guy who shows up at the party 40 minutes late only to realize he's STILL the first one to arrive. You know, you make a little small talk while the host is fixing up the place. Exchange a "sorry," " no, its great" for a little bit and start staring at the doorknob . .waiting . .please. . someone else get here . .where the heck is KC ? he said he would be here at 9 . .damn.
so.. maybe you've been there? come join the party. .

In the Beginning
Wednesday, December 6, 2006

So here we go- I'm K.C. and along with my business partner Mike, we are TRES propaganda. TRES propaganda is a new T-shirt brand that focuses on pointing out the zits on the face of pop-culture, with a design forward aesthetic. We started this company after creating a line of merchandising shirts for a good buddy Tyrone Wells (unreal musician). Both Mike and I have spent a ton of time in the graphic design world building brands and creating products and merchandise for other people and figured it was finally time we started doing it for ourselves. We feel TRES propaganda embodies today's culture with great funny shirts that everyone at the party will laugh at as well more fashion forward T's that stand out in a crowd. Our plan is to try and release at least one new shirt every 4-6 weeks, so make sure you check back with us often to see the latest and greatest. We hope you like our stuff, and we are always looking for suggestions and ideas so let us know what you guys are thinking.

much love,
K.C. and Mike
